Re: DateAdd function to Convert to Future Date and Past Date

DATELIB already contains already the functionality you are looking for without having to use STRINGLIB. Is this an alternative ? A shorter one ? Or am I missing something ? (wouldn't be the first time) ;) Edja INSTALL @lib$+"DATELIB" REM Add Future Date date1$="01/01/2019" date2$=FN_DateAdd(date1$,1...

Re: Does *DISPLAY accept variables?

If you want to use a *command (*DISPLAY) with variable(s) then you should resort to OSCLI In your case replace ANY$="BRW.bmp" *DISPLAY ANY$ 200,1100,100,100 by ANY$="BRW.bmp" OSCLI "DISPLAY """+ANY$+""" "+"200,1100,100,100" Maybe I could get rid of a few """ 's, but I just took the example from the ...

Re: COMLIB--Excel webdata download

Zaphod, thanks for your suggestion ! I've tried the following code : Inv=FN_getobject(Xap,"Workbooks.Open("""+Invest$+""")") PROC_callmethod(Inv,"WorkSheets(1).Activate") testvalue$=FN_getvaluestr(Inv,"ActiveSheet.cells(109,1).value") FOR z=1 TO 20 PROCwait(3000) testvalue$=FN_getvaluestr(Inv,"Activ...

COMLIB--Excel webdata download

I have configured an Excel-sheet to download stock exchange data from a financial website on opening the sheet. It then updates the same data every 10 min as long as the file is open. The file is opened by my BB4W program, using COMLIB, which reads it every 10 min after Excel has done a new download...

Re: Leaving the forum (again)?

Richard, I have already replied on several occasions in the past how valuable your participation is on the forum. I'm not going to repeat the arguments I presented then. They are all still valid. Statistics about the number of posts and (lack of) response are not really significant given the small s...

Re: SORTLIB of 2D array

if I remember correctly, Richard advised me along those lines some 3 years ago In fact this goes back to 2012. I've now found the exchange of information about SORTLIB in https://groups.io/g/bb4w. I've done a search with the term "Multidimensional array sort" . Lots of detailed and useful answers f...

Re: SORTLIB of 2D array

Hi D, An alternative is to realize from the start that you want to be able to sort, and set the arrays up with the data in rows in the first place! True and, if I remember correctly, Richard advised me along those lines some 3 years ago and I followed his advice. This time however, the array is the ...

Re: SORTLIB of 2D array

Hi D, thanks for the reply. I agree with your views. When the sort-routines were written in assembler, the decision was made to do it based on rows. To do the same based on columns would just be doubling the work, unnecessarily, and perhaps be more complicated (just guessing,I'm not able evaluate th...

Re: SORTLIB of 2D array

With some experimenting I've managed to find the answer to my question 2 : "Question 2: Row 0 (array elements A$(0,0) up to A$(0,4) can contain irrelevant data. How to avoid that this row is also taken into the sort. I'm not sure if I need to use the line C% = DIM(B$(),DIM(B$()))+1 or just C% = DIM(...

SORTLIB of 2D array

I have some doubts about the way I go about to sort a 2D array. My understanding of the SORTLIB documentation is that the sorting proceeds based on the values in a row of the array. But I want to sort the array based on the content of a column. To do this, I do a transposition of the array so I can ...
