Re: Tree View routine

Ran the test routines and was most impressed by all that the treeview library does.
Shame that Richard hasn't publicly thanked Svein here for his valuable contribution.
Very nice work Svein, I guess you have to make do with "(with thanks to Svein)" on Groups.io.
Thanks from all of us here as well.

Structure prototypes in Structure DIMs

In an other topic I recently wrote: DIM mi{s%, rm{l%,t%,r%,b%}, rw{l%,t%,r%,b%}, flag%} and as I did this thought 'Why can't I define a Rect structure prototype and use that?' But I did not see how you could do that until I recently looked at one of Richard's SDL libraries where I found the equivale...

Re: Screen dimensions

Mike wrote: So I'm very surprised the code kinda worked. Yes. I take your point, it overruns the structure and luckily there is nothing there that it runs into. I'll also add that those DIM allocations are irrelevant as that is not the space that is being written into as I first implied. Delete them...

Re: Screen dimensions

DDRM we have all done that! So I finally managed to solve this, I think. Well I can certainly find the screen size and I think that this gives a solution to the wider requirements. You use the Multiwin library and define a new window to be in the space where you know the second monitor to be. To do ...

Re: Screen dimensions

I am not surprised that Mike was confused. KenDown's program has quite a few problems and DDRM's modification did give a result but largely by luck I think. It works, kind of, because the memory allocated in the DIM statements maybe contiguous but that isn't guaranteed. [EDIT. Successive DIM allocat...

Re: Screen dimensions

I had a play trying various ways to achieve what you were after but without success. Win 32 calls to MonitorFromPoint always failed. Calls to MonitorFromRect always gave the handle of the primary monitor no mater what Rect coordinates were given. So I could never get a handle to the second monitor, ...

Re: Screen dimensions

Not sure it gives any more information but I think that could be written a little more concisely using structures. DISPLAY_DEVICE_ATTACHED_TO_DESKTOP=1 DIM displaydeviceA{cb%,devicename&(31),devicestring&(127),stateflags%,deviceid&(127),devicekey&(127)} displaydeviceA.cb%=DIM(displaydeviceA{}) DIM b...

Re: System-wide monitoring or maybe integration of BB4W & AHK

It sounds to me like you could set up a Taskbar Icon and hide your program. Then you would have a callback from the tray icon click to open your background program. As there are examples of WIN32 code (using C++) doing this BB4W certainly could as well although I am not aware of any BB4W specific ex...

Re: The power of GPU shaders

Thank you Richard. Now I am really puzzled what the advantage of the SDL versions are on a Windows platform. I thought it was the graphics capabilities that the SDL layer gave you but perhaps I was quite wrong.
