Re: New BBCSDL games website/web page?

I only have 1 completed game called Volatile vases. It was improved in 2019 and is a solo game. I have it on my forum along with other public tools. I am willing to contribute, although my game may not meet up to standards. I can supply link if you want to assess it. It doesn't run under BBCSDL bec...

Re: New BBCSDL games website/web page?

'BBCSDL Games' web page launched http://www.proggies.uk/bbcsdl/index.html I am very grateful to Richard for putting so much time and energy into porting the original BB4W versions of ' Tyoob ' and ' Forces of Darkness ' to BBCSDL. For those out there who may be thinking about making a game or demo ...

Re: No room

Have you tried increasing the ' Initial user memory ' in the BB4W IDE? Go to Options -> Customize and then set the initial user memory to something higher like 3000000 bytes. My 3D project is nearing a natural conclusion Is that the same as saying that the 3D game you're working on is nearly complet...

Re: Proposal: CONTINUE FOR/REPEAT/WHILE

(there must not be a space between THEN and ';'). This is one of several situations in BBC BASIC when a semicolon means 'suppress forthcoming action', in this case 'don't add another level of IF nesting'. I don't know if this sounds incredible, but I didn't know about that feature! Thanks for the i...

Proposal: CONTINUE FOR/REPEAT/WHILE

I know there's a proposal (which I support) for extending the functionality of the FOR statement being actively discussed, but here's one of my own. I like (and actually use quite often) the various forms of the EXIT statement (EXIT FOR, EXIT REPEAT, EXIT WHILE). I believe this makes good, structure...

Re: BasicBoy(Tyoob, BB4W game)has finished in 2nd place in a Mix-It-Up theme game programming contest!!!

Tyoob is an enjoyable and interesting shooting game. Thanks for the feedback. :) look into how BBC BASIC handles the full screen mode. I installed several other BASIC dialects on my computer and it is easy to make a full screen game in these dialects. I hope that you will solve the technical proble...

How are you feeling about that?
Well, the initial dopamine hit has worn off somewhat.

Re: Tyoob (new game)

This is my entry for the latest code-a-game compo at SyntaxBomb. It was made -- from scratch -- in about 25 days after I scrapped the original project (Bot Cave) for various reasons, so it's rather rough around the edges: As announced elsewhere on this forum it won Second Prize!! Many congratutatio...

Hopefully I'll get some feedback
Not the kind of feedback you want, I know, but a predictable question nevertheless: are you going to release the source?
Very unlikely! The source is an absolute dog's breakfast.
