Cross-platform BBC BASIC (Windows, Linux x86, Mac OS-X, Android, iOS, Raspberry Pi)
USB-Serial adaptor
« Thread started on: Oct 3rd, 2017, 5:01pm »
Some time ago I posted a query about USB-Serial adaptors, and can't remember where I posted it on and can't find it in my various BBC BASIC archives.
Anyway. I've got some BB4W code that communicates between a WinPC and various BBCs via the serial port. Has been working perfectly for seven years. My laptop doesn't have a hardware serial port, but there are USB-Serial adaptors that are "seen" as a serial port by the computer. From experience with USB-Centronics adaptors and comments I've seen in various places I know it can be hit and miss picking one that works.
So, can anybody recommend a USB-Serial adaptor, preferably from experience of using one and knowing it works. Ta.
