Touch screen size is 800x400

I decided to connect my 7 inch Raspberry Pi touchscreen display to my Raspberry Pi3 and although I could resize BBCSDL with the mouse, I am unable to get to any of the windows controls because BBCSDL just doesn't fit. The menus and the corners of the screen are off the sides.

I was hoping you might have the editor maybe reduced to 1/4 the width and height so I can resize it.

The Pi3 tries to center it on the touch screen and I cant find a way to remotely control the bbc startup.

I could pre program apps at that size and am able to auto execute just the apps, but I would like to do it all on the touch screen as I plan to design automotive controls and monitors and I will need to troubleshoot any issues on site after unit install.

I like reinventing the wheel, but for now I will work on tools for D3D

You can force the SDLIDE.bbc window to open at any size you wish (within reason) by editing sdlide.ini, which is stored in the @usr$ directory. You would need to modify these lines:

Code:
windowwidth=800
windowheight=400

I can't guarantee that the IDE will be usable if you reduce the size too much (for example if the toolbar does not fit in its entirety) but it may be an improvement over what you have now.

Thanks Richard! I got it resized.

Anyone that does this would also have to ensure that any programs they make for the 7in touch screen are at 800x400 or less before they are executed.

It probably could be reduced a bit more to expose the top Pi controls.. So far its working nice!

Oh and as a side note the file is located at:

/home/pi/.local/share/BBCBasic/sdlide.ini

You will need to use a normal text editor and select:
SAVE AS
and use your mouse to select and overwrite the old file or it wont take the change
