Help menu confusion
« Thread started on: Mar 19th, 2016, 11:55pm »
When I updated BBC BASIC for Windows to version 6.02a I probably should have amended the Discussion Group and Message Board links in the Help menu, but sadly it never once occurred to me to do so.
As a result we have the rather unsatisfactory situation that Help... Discussion Group links to a group which is closed to new posts and Help... Message Board links to a forum of which I am no longer a member (although that's not to say it is any less valuable)!
I could of course release a v6.02b with these links changed, but to do so would be a pain and there are practical disadvantages such as once again resetting the download's 'trust' rating.
So my inclination is to do nothing until another release of BB4W is required for a more concrete reason, unless there is a groundswell of different opinion.

It seems the links when clicked take you to the proper areas. Its really not a big deal. ( the yahoo groups link has information to redirect those who want to get to the official site) I read the message for the other conforums link and its fine.. I am sure it will be ok.
Of course myself and other people have found this forum too.. and it has links on the other forum if they desire to come here (for the links concerning the new release and the link for this forum). And if you desire... you could make boards here too. Since this forum is already here.
And making links to material here on the other forum could remedy as the other forum already does that too.
This forum is mentioned there..
